End-of-Life Policy

Wyze End-of-Life Policy

Effective: October 26, 2021

Purpose

This End-of-Life Policy (“EOL Policy”) explains how Wyze Labs, Inc. (“Wyze”, “we” or “us”) handles products that reach the end of their product life cycle. By End of Life (“EOL”) we mean the Wyze course of action for the discontinuation of Wyze devices, services (including subscriptions) and software (“Products”). The EOL process consists of a series of technical and business milestones and activities that, once completed, make the Product obsolete. Once obsolete, the Product will no longer be sold, improved, maintained, or supported in the ordinary course of business.
Our Products may reach the end of their product life cycle for a number of reasons, including technological innovations driving changes, shifting market demands, or the aging of Products over time that are replaced by functionally improved technologies. With this in mind, this EOL Policy describes Wyze’s intended communication and transition plans for discontinued Products, to help manage end-of-life transitions and to explain the role Wyze can play in helping you migrate to alternative Wyze devices and services.

Scope

We may change this EOL Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the EOL Policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our website homepage or sending you a notification).
This EOL Policy is intended to describe Wyze’s general approach to the EOL process. Any questions arising in the interpretation or application of this EOL Policy shall be as determined by Wyze in its sole discretion.

Policy

  • Wyze will typically provide a public EOL notice for a Product on Wyze.com at https://wyze.com/term-conditions. We encourage you to visit this site regularly as it contains useful information regarding Wyze’s end-of-life program.
    • EOL notices will include an estimated Final Date of Support (“FDOS”) for the Product. The FDOS is the last date to receive applicable service and support as entitled by valid agreement for a Product.
  • After Wyze provides a public EOL notice for a Product that is a subscription service, Wyze will typically no longer allow you to enroll in a subscription with a term that goes beyond the FDOS.
  • If you are already enrolled in an automatically renewing subscription before the FDOS for the service, Wyze may adjust the term of your automatic renewal to not exceed the FDOS.
  • When determining the FDOS, Wyze will typically seek to allow for the following legacy support periods:
    • Up to one (1) year of continued warranty support from the EOL notice date for any Product that is covered by the Wyze Limited Warranty at such time (in accordance with the Wyze Return Policy and Limited Warranty Terms).
    • One (1) year of continued offering and support of subscription services.
    • One (1) year of bug fixes, maintenance releases, workarounds or patches for critical bugs, as determined by Wyze in its sole discretion, from the EOL notice date. Wyze customers may be required to install newer software versions to receive any of the above continued software support.

Risk of Continued Use

One consequence of a Product reaching its FDOS is that Wyze will no longer be actively monitoring for and patching new security vulnerabilities related to the Product. As a result, the continued use of Products past their FDOS carries increased risk, is discouraged by Wyze and is entirely at the user’s own risk.
