Wyze Adds AI-Fueled Video Search for Customers

Wyze’s new video search is available now to customers who are using its Wyze Cam Unlimited Service

Wyze Labs, Inc. (Wyze) today announced a new feature for customers, AI-Fueled Video Search. Now, customers of Wyze’s home security cameras and its app are able to use text search across their videos to spot various scenarios that can be useful in monitoring actions across their Wyze security footage–customers will be able to find moments faster, be as specific as they want in their search and find anything they need to locate across all their Wyze camera footage.

Wyze users can now search for anything in their Wyze videos. From everyday things like people, animals, vehicles, and packages, to very specific things like trash cans, garden tools, and even attributes like colors and shapes,” said Yun Zhang, CEO of Wyze. “Users will be surprised by the granular details they can search for across multiple devices using Wyze AI–whether that’s show me a delivery man with red roses to show me my cat in the backyard. This service makes keeping an eye on the stuff you care about easier than ever and will save time.”

The company’s new video search is fueled by the Wyze Vision Language Model, its own proprietary in-house built solution, which is finely tuned and specifically designed for Wyze cam data to support text queries. Wyze has been working on integrating AI into its systems since 2019 infusing a large amount of high-quality data to train its Vision Language Model to specifically support Wyze customer use cases and be 2-3 times faster than conventional inference engines.

At Wyze, the company has been focused heavily on building innovations that enhance user experience all while working to ensure customer data is safe and secure. In addition to AI Video search, the company recently launched its latest product, Wyze Cam 4, and a multi-camera timeline view, which makes it easier for customers and SMBs to view what is happening sequentially and follow up to four cameras on its mobile phone app (many more cameras on a laptop or larger mobile device). The company has also added features focused on the safety of user data and on improving the security of its cloud infrastructure. You can read more about those security efforts here

Starting today, Wyze users can request to use AI Video Search if they are using Wyze’s Cam Unlimited, a $9.99 per month service that offers cloud video recording for all cameras under one plan. You can read more about this new service and how to sign-up, here.
